Melissa Magarici with handmade jewellery from Native American Artists

A few years ago I fell in love with the jewelry that traditional Native American tribes were painstakingly making by hand in the towns of New Mexico. Later I found out that these pieces are world famous for their intricate skill and the craftsmanship that is used to make them. I bring you now these pieces of jewelry. The Indians of the Zuni Pueblo are known across the globe for their excellent Lapidary and Inlay skills. Zuni Inlay jewelry is among the most coveted hand crafted Jewelry in the world today. The pieces you see here are an example of Zuni, Navajo and Hopi tribe work. The use of Turquoise and Coral as personal adornment by Southwest Indians dates from prehistoric times and the use of Silver by Navajo, Zuni and Hopi Indians is almost 100 years old. These are Indian Hand Made products and should not be confused with jewelry imitations. Where used, all stones are genuine.

„We who are clay blended by the Master Potter, come from the kiln of Creation in many hues. How can people say one skin is colored, when each has its own coloration? What should it matter that one bowl is dark and the other pale, if each is of good design and serves its purpose well.“ ~Polingaysi Qoyawayma, Hopi ~

Each of these items is handcrafted and designed by Native American Artists unless otherwise noted.
